TCA: TruTV Orders Four Unscripted Originals

truTV has added to its order of new originals by greenlighting four unscripted series. New series include Branson Famous (w.t.), Hack My Life, Kart Life and The Shake Up

The annoucements, made at the network's portion of the Television Critics Association summer press tour at the Beverly Hilton, came alongside the debut of its new logo, as it continues its revamp.

The network bills Branson Famous as a “reality musical,” as the half-hour unscripted series will profile the longest-running variety show in Branson, Mo.

Hour-long Kart Life follows kart racing kids and parents while Hack My Life offers a half-hour of comedic life hack advice on a weekly basis. The Shake Up is a competition series hosted by comedian Mo Mandel in which bar owners swap jobs to see who can make the most profit in a night.

truTV has ordered 12 episodes of Branson Famous, 8 episodes of The Shake Up, and 10 episodes of both Kart Life and Hack My Life

The network also ordered 13 additional episodes of Way Out West, prior to the reality series’ July 21 premiere.

truTV began its revamp earlier this year with the launch of nine series: The Carbonaro Effect, Motor City Masters, Jokers Wild, Impractical Jokers, Fake Off, Friends of the People, Hair Jacked, How to Be a Grown Up and Local News.
