WheelsTV Rolls Out Top 200

WheelsTV wants to put its viewers behind the wheels of today’s 200 most popular cars, light trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

The network said Monday that it will roll out Top 200 as both a series and a video-on-demand showcase.

WheelsTV reached a deal with automotive-data provider Edmunds.com Inc. (www.edmunds.com) under which the two parties will create “engaging video test drives that will aid consumers as they shop for their new vehicles,” the network said.

"Top 200 is the next giant step in the car-shopping experience," WheelsTV chairman Jim Barisano said in a prepared statement.

"We believe that WheelsTV's Top 200 will become an essential consumer service,” he added. “Whether through VOD, DVRs [digital-video recorders] or broadband, consumers will be able to gather key vehicle information and narrow their search for a new set of wheels. And if they're just curious about the latest designs, they'll be able to watch exciting, action-filled vehicle profiles whenever they want."
