Venture-Capital Firms Hit the Brix

Brix Networks said Tuesday that it has raised $5 million in its fifth round of venture-capital funding.

New Brix investor Castile Ventures led the round for the provider of voice-over-Internet-protocol performance-management and service-assurance solutions, joined by previous backers Charles River Ventures, ComVentures, Fidelity Ventures, Partech International, and STAR Ventures.

Brix said the new round of capital will be used to accelerate sales, marketing and engineering-development efforts.

The company also announced that Castile partner Nina Saberi has joined its board of directors.
