Tribune, NFB Team Up on TV Listings for Blind

12/20/2006 8:34 AM Eastern

The National Federation of the Blind and Tribune Media Services will add television listings for the blind to on-demand news service NFB-NEWSLINE.

Blind and visually impaired Americans now have independent access to local TV listings via telephone by entering ZIP code, source of TV reception and time zone.

“The sheer volume of information that blind persons will now have access to is astonishing,” NFB president Marc Maurer said in a prepared statement. “Finally, blind television viewers can find out what's on any channel, at any time, and within seconds.”
