TiVo Brings ‘Turnaround’ Marketer On Board

TiVo hired Clent Richardson -- who previously led marketing efforts at Nortel, T-Mobile U.K. and Apple -- as chief marketing officer.

Richardson, who has been cited as a “turnaround” marketing specialist, will report directly to CEO Tom Rogers.

Richardson left Nortel in March 2006 for “personal reasons” after serving as the networking-equipment maker’s CMO for 18 months, according to a Nortel press release. The company said he was planning to relocate his family from Toronto to the West Coast.

Prior to Nortel, Richardson was chief sales and marketing officer for T-Mobile U.K. At Apple, he served as vice president of worldwide developer relations and worldwide solutions marketing.

TiVo last month announced the departure of chief financial officer Steve Sordello, who joined social-networking startup LinkedIn. The digital-video-recorder vendor hired Financial Leadership Group principal Cal Hoagland as an interim CFO while it conducts a search for a permanent replacement.
