Terayon Rolls Out IP-Enabled Decoder

Terayon Communication Systems Inc. Tuesday introduced its new “CP 7600G” Internet protocol-enabled, digital-to-analog multichannel integrated-edge decoder.

The vendor said that by deploying the CP 7600G, operators can immediately remove their analog tiers and distribute all of their programming only once -- digitally -- across their networks.

“The IP-video-networking capabilities that we now offer across our entire line of digital-video platforms are crucial for our customers to capitalize on the operational streamlining and economies of scale provided by moving to all-digital and IP-based networks,” Terayon vice president of digital-video solutions Fabrice Quinard said in a prepared statement.

“At the same time, all-digital networks unlock substantial bandwidth that is now available for delivering more revenue-generating services,” Quinard added.
