2/27/2004 8:10 AM Eastern

Worldwide cable-modem-termination-system revenue of $126 million in the fourth quarter represented a 13% gain from the third quarter, according to data from Infonetics Research's "Cable Aggregation Hardware and Cable CPE" quarterly worldwide market-share and forecast reports.

Worldwide cable customer-premises-equipment units increased to nearly 4.3 million between the third and fourth quarters, and revenue rose to $316 million, Infonetics said.

Cisco Systems Inc. was still No. 1 in all regions for CMTS-revenue market share for full-year 2003, but in the fourth quarter, Arris Group Inc. overtook Cisco for the first time for the top spot in the North American market.
