SCTE Starts Search For SVP, Operations

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) announced Wednesday that it has launched a search for a senior vice president, operations, the role previously held by Cathy Oakes, a long-time SCTE exec who died suddenly last November.

SCTE said the position, which will oversee key organizational areas and drive new Society initiatives and be based at the Society’s headquarters in Exton, Pa., will report to SCTE president and CEO Mark Dzuban. That person will also have oversight of SCTE human resources, information systems, membership, chapters, facilities management and other functions.

“SCTE’s operational activities are critical links between our resources, our membership, and the industry,” said Dzuban, in a statement. “As our responsibilities to cable telecommunications increase, both in the United States and worldwide, the SVP, Operations will play an essential role in shaping the evolution of our operational areas to help us meet SCTE’s objectives.”

SCTE has retained TD Madison & Associates, an exec search firm specializing in cable telecommunications, to help manage the search process.

To honor Oakes, the Society has created the Catherine Oakes Memorial Leadership Scholarship.
