SCTE Kicks Off Paper Chase

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is seeking proposals for technical papers to be presented at its 2006 Conference on Emerging TechnologiesJan. 10-12 in Tampa, Fla.

The theme for the 2006 edition of the SCTE confab is, “Competitive Broadband 2010,” and the ET 2006 program subcommittee -- chaired by C-COR Inc. chief technology officer Ken Wright -- will review all technical proposals.

The SCTE committee said it will consider papers on any topic but give special weight to those addressing questions about the industry’s future, including those on cable telecommunications in 2010, competitive platforms in 2010, cable-network and software architectures in 2010 and supporting national cross-MSO services.
