The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers has sent out a call for proposals for technical workshops to be offered during Cable-Tec Expo 2006, scheduled for June 20-23 in Denver.

The SCTE is looking for proposals that address commercial offerings, network-performance practices, network-based session resource management, interactive TV, fixed mobile convergence, switched digital video, video-on-demand and advancements in digital and metro/regional/national backbone networks. Proposals are due Jan. 20.

Christopher Bowick, senior vice president of engineering and chief technology officer with Cox Communications Inc., chairs the program subcommittee, and he will announce the selected presentations by Feb. 24.
