N2 Reaches for ReachView

N2 Broadband Inc. will use a new real-time monitoring service from ReachView Technologies in its “OpenStream” video-on-demand platform, ReachView said Tuesday.

N2 Broadband wanted additional visibility into OpenStream, which is currently supporting VOD services in more than 50 markets with more than 15 million digital subscribers, and ReachView said its technology enables N2 Broadband's customers to control, monitor and improve their own operational and technical performance and better serve their subscribers.

“When a cable subscriber orders a movie, they want real-time results,” N2 Broadband director of operations Richard Linn said in a prepared statement. “If they select a movie and don't get it for some reason, the revenue loss is felt by every party in the distribution chain, from content provider to local cable operator."

Linn added, "With ReachView's help, N2's NOC [network-operations center] now has improved real-time visibility of the complete VOD back office and the necessary data to make better operational and business decisions."
