VoIP and cloud services specialist Genband has opened its “global enterprise communications” headquarters in New York City at the iconic Chrysler Building as part of a plan to target enterprises and customers spanning the government, financial institution and university sectors.

Genband will also use the new facility to demo its recently launched Generation Enterprise framework portfolio, including its new Smart Office 2.0 system and its WebRTC-enabled Unified Communications platform.

Genband’s corporate headquarters will remain in Frisco, Texas.

“On the heels of our successful Generation Enterprise rollout, establishing a major presence in the heart of one of the world’s major business hubs marks another significant milestone in executing against our enterprise communications objectives,” said Jon Jorgl, president of Enterprise Solutions at Genband, in a statement.

Genband, which counts Comcast, Cox Communications, Liberty Global, Charter Communications, Kabel Deutschland, and Rogers Communications among its MSO customers, has been on a buying spree of late, snapping up unified messaging specialist uReach Technologies, and mobile IP communication services firm Fring.
