CompUSA to Sell Vonage VoIP

12/21/2004 3:12 AM Eastern

CompUSA Inc. will offer voice-over-Internet-protocol service from Vonage Holdings Corp. in its 200 plus nationwide stores and online (www.compusa.com), the companies said Tuesday.

The retailer will offer two Vonage starter kits featuring Cisco Systems Inc. Linksys devices that will allow customers to make calls in the United States and Canada for a flat monthly rate starting at $14.99.

"CompUSA's national rollout of Vonage's service is evidence of the transformation of the telecommunications industry and the need to make broadband telephony more readily available to the general consumer market," Vonage vice president, retail-sales channel Dave Goodwin said in a prepared statement.

“We are looking forward to a successful sales relationship with one of the nation's leading retailers of technology equipment,” he added.
