MTV Details New Shows, Pilots

MTV: Music Television has green-lit two new programs, including a late-night
talk show hosted by Tom Green, as well as unveiling a development slate of
one-dozen pilots Wednesday.

MTV officials said they were going ahead with The New Tom Green Talk
Show
,a one-hour nightly talk-fest, as well as a reality series about
newlyweds Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey in which the network will chronicle
the pair's first year as husband and wife.

The Green show premieres June 16 at midnight, and the untitled Simpson-Lachey
show is slated for August.

In addition, MTV has green-lit nearly one-dozen pilots for its development
slate the rest of this year.

In When I Was 17, celebrities will recall what they were like at that
age and what pivotal events shaped their lives. That pilot will premiere April
17 as part of MTV's "TRL High School Week."

Another pilot, High School Stories: Scandals, Pranks and
Controversies
,will also premiere that week, April 16. In that pilot,
MTV News will explore a prank at a Florida high school in which 12 students
planned to unleash 80,000 bees on their school.

Some of the other MTV pilots include a Paula Abdul-led
cheerleading-competition reality show; Girl Makes Band, a reality game
show in which teams of teen girls handpick and create a band;
Lifeguard,a reality show that follows several lifeguards;
Homewrecker,where eight contestants move into a house controlled
by producers who try to force the housemates out; and Posse, about the
lives of those who form the entourages of mega-stars.

"Our new slate of shows represents our ongoing commitment to ambitious,
dynamic programming," MTV president of entertainment Brian Graden said in a
prepared statement.
