Comcast Begins Dallas Network Rebuild6/02/2003 5:55 AM Eastern
Comcast Corp. is forging ahead with its task to upgrade former AT&T
Broadband markets, this time starting construction on a digital fiber-optic
network in Dallas.
Comcast will spend $70 million on the network and its surrounding Texas cable
system during the next year. That will expand the availability of digital-cable
channels and high-speed Internet service.
Comcast plans to schedule most of the construction during the
low-television-viewing hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays to minimize

said Ann Montgomery, regional senior vice president for Comcast's Southern
