The finale of the second season of ESPN’s World Series of Poker was the highest-rated poker telecast in the network’s history.

Network officials said the Sept. 14 telecast averaged a 2.82 household rating from 10 p.m.-11 p.m. It was also the sport’s giant best-ever poker mark among males 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, according to the network.

The taped telecast -- on which Greg Raymer won $5 million -- was the most-viewed show on all of cable Tuesday among men 18-49 (1.48 million) and 25-54 (1.46 million), the network added.
