Nets Boast of May Ratings Feats

May brought ratings flowers for several cable networks.

• The History Channel said it had its best May ever, setting records for average primetime household rating and impressions among adults 25-54 and men 25-54.

History earned a 1.0 primetime mark and 473,000 and 340,000 impressions, respectively, among adults 25-54 and men 25-54.

• AMC said May 2005 was its best May ever, as it experienced double-digit growth year-to-year across every daypart.

The network said May primetime household ratings rose 10% year-to-year, to a 0.85 from a 0.77 in May 2004.

AMC added that its adults 18-49 primetime performance in May was its highest ever for the month and up 14% versus May 2004, climbing to 344,000 from 303,000. Ditto for the network’s adults 25-54 primetime performance, up 13% to 414,000 from 365,000.

• Court TV said its Court TV News daytime block finished May as the No. 2-rated news network among adults 18-49 and 25-54.

The network said year-to-date, its average delivery of 134,000 adults 25-54 trails only Fox News Channel.

Court TV added thatNancy Grace: Closing Arguments and Catherine Crier Live were particularly strong performers for the Court TV News block.
