Vonage Puts Faith in Lamb

3/27/2007 5:03 AM Eastern

Ed Lamb was promoted to senior vice president of global service-delivery operations at broadband-phone-service provider Vonage.

Previously interim head of GSDO, Lamb has a telecommunications background that includes stints as senior director of retention for Sprint Nextel, director of sales operations for high-speed data at Bell Atlantic and director of worldwide customer-service operations at General Electric Lighting.

“Ed's telecommunications background will certainly aid our efforts to continue to improve Vonage's overall operating efficiency and to allow our customers to communicate when, where and how they choose,” Vonage CEO Mike Snyder said in a prepared statement.

Holmdel, N.J.-based Vonage boasts more than 2.2 million subscriber lines, and its service is sold via the Web, as well as national retailers Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart Stores and Target.
