Stewart-Crossfire Row Tops the Blogs

Jon Stewart’s visit to Cable News Network’s Crossfire was quite the hit with bloggers.

According to marketing-intelligence firm Intelliseek, the transcript of the debate between the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Crossfire hosts Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala was the No. 1 blogged news item of 2004, with 1,880 links to the transcript found in bloggers’ online commentaries.

"Blogs are proving to be powerful resources for sharing news and keeping issues alive in the public's mind," Intelliseek chief marketing officer Pete Blackshaw said in a prepared statement. "CNN reaped a tremendous amount of awareness by making the Stewart transcript available on its Web site [www.cnn.com]."
