SCTE: Up, ‘InfoScope’

5/17/2004 9:13 AM Eastern

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers has launched a search engine featuring broadband-engineering and cable-technology information.

The trade group said “SCTE InfoScope” includes engineering information on cable-technology topics such as video-on-demand, voice over Internet protocol, Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification, HDTV and WiFi.

It also provides access to cable terminology, formulas, acronyms, articles, white papers, presentations and other resources.

“It is an exclusive member benefit of the SCTE and the only one of its kind in the cable-telecommunications industry,” SCTE CEO John Clark said in a prepared statement.

To use SCTE InfoScope, members must log in on the trade group’s Web site (info.scte.org). A free trial is available to nonmembers through July 16, the SCTE said.
