WGN Superstation will go the extreme-sports route with its first-ever original series.
The network will preview five episodes of Ultimate Arena Paintball this spring and a like number this fall before rolling out 26 half-hours on Saturday afternoons in early fringe or access beginning in November, according to program director Ken Reiner.
Highlighting action from the World Paintball League and its feeder circuit, the show is aimed at adults 18-34, Reiner said, describing the alternative sport as a cross between “WWE [World Wrestling Entertainment] and extreme skateboarding.”
