Turner: No Innovation at Time Warner2/28/2006 5:14 AM Eastern
Cable News Network founder Ted Turner made his first public comments since announcing that he would not seek re-election to Time Warner Inc.’s board.
Speaking at Emory University in Atlanta Monday night, where he received a global innovation award, he said, “I thought my company was more innovative when it was smaller. My experience with a big company was somewhat disappointing,” according to AP.
He added that small companies must take risks to thrive, but large companies tend to "coast" and get "stuck with businesses that are no-brainers,” AP reported.
