TBN to Debut Kids’ Network

Trinity Broadcasting Network will debut Smile of a Child Television Network Christmas Eve.

TBN said the Christian children’s-programming service will be available immediately in 13 major markets at launch via digital multicasting, and the programmer expects other cable and broadcast additions across the United States.

Among series that will air on the new network:

Kingdom Adventure, a children's fantasy series that combines puppets and clever animation;

Gina D's Kids Club, an educational series for preschoolers aged 2-6;

BJ's Teddy Bear Club & Bible Stories, designed to educate and entertain while introducing young children to colors, letters, numbers and stories out of the Bible; and

Retro News: A Blast from the Past, a magazine-style show especially for kids 9-12.

“There's certainly been no shortage of educational children's-TV programs, and parents have been grateful for it,” Smile of a Child programming director Brenda Rossman said in a prepared statement. “But the Smile of a Child Network takes it a step further and adds the crucial element of spiritual instruction that will really bear fruit in the lives of children for many years to come.”
