Sony Has a Grudge with AMC

Sony Pictures will use AMC’s Monsterfest programming stunt to promote its Grudge 2, which debuts in theatres Friday.

The agreement marks the first time the network has integrated an advertiser within its own promo spots for Monsterfest, and Grudge 2 will receive online presence via a streaming trailer featured on AMC’s Web site (www.amctv.com).

Monsterfest, which runs Oct. 22-31, will showcase a host horror movies including four network premieres: Wolfen,starring Albert Finney and Diane Venora, Sunday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m.; the enhanced version of Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence, at 9:45 p.m. that same night; The Lost Boys, starring Jason Patric and Corey Haim, the following day at 6 p.m.; and The Exorcist, starring Jason Miller and Ellen Burstyn, Saturday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m.
