SOAPnet Helps Days Fans Combat Withdrawal

Days of Our Lives is being pre-empted on NBC during its coverage of the Summer Olympic Games, but SOAPnet has a cure.

Beginning Monday, the network will air a 14-day event featuring favorite Days episodes, wrapping it up with one-hour special SOAPnet Reveals … Days: Return toSalem Friday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.

The special will be hosted by Deidre Hall, and it will feature Kristian Alfonso, Peter Reckell, Drake Hogestyn, Melissa Reeves, Alison Sweeney, Bryan Dattilo and others providing a recap of the current story line and a sneak peek at what is ahead for the soap in September.

Days: Return toSalem will also give a brief history of the 39-year-old series, highlight the main families, take an in-depth look at favorite Days couples and recap all of the cliffhangers that happened before the Olympics.

"The Olympics afford us a unique opportunity to be the only television home to Days of Our Lives for two-weeks," SOAPnet general manager Deborah Blackwell said in a prepared statement.

"This salute marks the first-ever preview show for Days of Our Lives, and we are thrilled to partner with Corday Productions to give viewers a recap of the serial-killer story line and a sneak peek at what they can look forward to after the Olympics,” she added.
