SOAPnet to Debut Soapography, Air Paper Dolls

This summer, SOAPnet is launching original series Soapography,and it has acquired former ABC soap Paper Dolls,officials said Wednesday.

SOAPnet has ordered 20 episodes of Soapography,the network’s third original series. In each half-hour episode, the program will take a look at the lives of two of daytime’s current soap stars.

Soapography -- which is slated to feature actors such as All My Children’sSusan Lucci -- will premiere in August and air on Saturdays.

SOAPnet has also acquired all 12 hour-long episodes, as well as the two-hour pilot, of Paper Dolls from MGM Domestic Television Distribution Inc.

The former nighttime soap aired on ABC in 1984 and stars Morgan Fairchild, Lloyd Bridges, Mimi Rodgers and Lauren Hutton. Paper Dolls will join SOAPnet’s “Dysfunctional Family Night” block beginning July 17 at 10 p.m.

They Started on Soaps 3 is the third hour-long SOAPnet special on actors who began their careers on daytime TV. It will debut Sept. 6.
