New York club musician Gavin DeGraw will appear on Showtime’s Dead Like Me Oct. 24, and Showtime Networks Inc. and MGM Television Entertainment have cranked up the promotion machine.
Showtime will run a sweepstakes on its Web site (www.sho.com) Sept. 7-Oct. 1, with the grand prize being a trip to see DeGraw perform live in a private concert, hosted by MGM, at Culver City Studios in Los Angeles.
The sweepstakes will be supported with 30-second spots on MTV: Music Television and MTV2 Sept. 13-25, and on Showtime and its multiplex services Sept. 7-Oct. 1.
Also, approximately 700 Sam Goody stores nationwide will promote Dead Like Me, DeGraw's Chariot CD and guest appearance on the show and the sweepstakes following an arrangement between Showtime, MGM, Sam Goody and J Records, DeGraw’s label.
DeGraw will appear as a street musician, performing the title track from his debut album, Chariot.
