Q Bids for Pride Vision3/18/2005 6:44 AM Eastern
Q Television Network said Friday that it has made an offer to purchase Pride Vision TV, the first full-time gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender network.
Pride Vision TV was licensed by the Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission in November 2000 to provide television service targeted to the GLBT community.
If its bid is successful Q said it would comply with all CRTC rules and regulations for all of its original programming.
“By acquiring Pride Vision, Q would be able to cut its expenses down on all of its programming costs," CEO Frank Olsen said in a prepared statement. "It is still early in the game, but we feel confident with our bid to purchase the network and further expand Q and the queer television movement.”
