Outdoor Channel Gets New Indoors2/22/2005 2:27 AM Eastern
The Outdoor Channel is getting a new indoor broadcast facility.
Outdoor Channel Holdings Inc. said Tuesday that it will buy a building in Temecula, Calif., for $2.6 million to house the new facility. The network’s parent expects to close on the purchase during the third quarter.
The company said the 28,000-square-foot warehouse -- across from its current headquarters -- will be renovated over the next six months to accommodate an all-digital format for the network. Approximately 50 employees will move into the new facility upon completion of the renovations, which is expected in September, the company added.
“This expansion exemplifies the success and growth we have achieved and underscores our bright outlook for the future,” Outdoor Channel Holdings CEO Perry T. Massie said in a prepared statement.
“Especially with the planned launch of high-definition format TOC 2 HD this summer, we look forward to operating from studios with technology to match the quality of the programming we are producing for our viewers,” he added.
