NUVOtv Inks Co-Production Pact with Vevo

Continuing its original programming ramp-up, NUVOtv has signed a new co-production partnership pact with online video purveyor Vevo to produce an original music series.

Part of NUVOtv’s spring programming slate, The Collective, Powered by Vevo is a weekly, two-hour series featuring select DJs and celebrity tastemakers offering their perspectives on what’s new and hot across music and pop culture.

The series, co-executive produced by NUVOtv’s chief creative officer Jennifer Lopez through her Nuyorican Productions, will highlight the tastemakers’ personal music picks of the week, celebrity interviews, and hot trends in music, fashion, live events, viral videos and more.

Premiering on the network on March 6 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, The Collective will then air exclusively across Vevo’s free apps for mobile/tablet/TV and Vevo.com.

The Collective follows NUVOtv’s original series, A Step Away, and House of Joy, which are also produced by Nuyorican Productions.

“When it comes to music videos, Vevo has become the world’s gold standard making them the perfect partner for NUVOtv as we expand our original entertainment offerings in the music space,” said NUVOtv executive vice president of programming Bill Hillary in announcing the new show. “We look forward to working with them and benefiting from their insights and guidance in co-producing a weekly series that is certain to become a must see for all music fans.”

Noted Vevo’s senior vice president content and programming Doug McVehil: “The Collective, Powered by Vevo marks our first foray into weekly television production. Creating original programming that is distributed through digital and traditional broadcast channels is an important focus for Vevo this year. We could not be more excited to work with the team at NUVOtv and Jennifer Lopez to bring viewers a new voice in music and pop culture.”

NUVOtv aspires to be the English-language destination for viewers interested in Latino entertainment.
