Music Choice Rebrands Interactive Channel as Music Choice Play

Music Choice tomorrow will re-launch its interactive music video network SWRV TV as Music Choice Play.

With the Oct. 15 changeover, all of Music Choice networks will be unified under one brand,: Video On Demand, 46 music channels and Music Choice Play on TV, online at musicchoice.com and through iOS & Android apps. 

The move also affords advertisers and MVPDs increased opportunities to partner with Music Choice and reach a large, loyal and engaged audience, which the company puts at 47 million monthly Music Channel viewers and 8 million monthly VOD viewers. 

Viewers interact with Music Choice Play through Twitter by voting for what videos get played and tweeting live with their favorite artists on shows like You & A (A stands for the artists). The network features full- screen music videos from artists like Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Macklemore, Pink, One Direction and Justin Timberlake. 

Music Choice Play aspires to expand on SWRV’s foundation of being the first interactive music television network by offering more opportunities for consumers to be on TV and take control of what airs. Additional new shows The In Crowd and Ultimate Guest List offer viewers more chances to be on TV as they introduce videos and “co-host” shows with their favorite artists.  Music Choice says it will continue to invest heavily in new programming to stay relevant to evolving millennial trends and keep our audience fully engaged. For 2014, strategic weekend and late-night programming will be added, as well as short-form programming including lifestyle segments and an endless number of opportunities for artists to engage in the network.

“While other networks are trying to attract millennials, we have been engaged and popular with this audience for some time now through one of their biggest passion points - music!,” said  Music Choice COO Christina Tancredi. “Music Choice Play takes this connection further by giving millennials control of their favorite network, which is the ultimate answer to stopping cord cutting.”

The network will feature a new programming block daily from 3-6pm (ET), reaching millennials after-school and work. The network’s fringe block will be anchored by the new hosted version of Music Choice’s You & A, the most ambitious cross-platform show to date for the company. The 30-minute show will offer fans unparalleled access to artists, music video premieres, live studio performances from up and coming artists, the ability to ask artists questions directly via Twitter, and much more! New episodes premiere at 4 p.m. on Music Choice Play and Music Choice’s Hit List Music Channel then encore on video on demand and musicchoice.com.
