mtvU, Linkin Park Are ‘Breaking the Habit’

MTV Networks’ mtvU is making its debut in the exclusive-video-debut club Monday.

The 24-hour college network will air the world premiere of Linkin Park’s new video, for “Breaking the Habit,” at 9 a.m. (EST). The video will then air every hour on the hour for the first 48 hours following its debut, then remain in heavy rotation.

The video will not be seen on MTV: Music Television or MTV2 until the following Monday (May 24).

MTV2 will then debut Making the Video: Breaking the Habit Saturday, May 29 at 9:30 p.m. EST/6:30 p.m. PST.

“This is the first time mtvU will be exclusively debuting a video by a band of this magnitude, and we couldn’t be more excited that it is with Linkin Park,” 360 Music Initiative, MTV, MTV2 and mtvU vice president Amy Doyle said in a prepared statement.

“The band has a huge connection with the college audience, and it is exciting to see labels and artists alike recognizing mtvU’s power to reach college students and support bands in a unique new way,” she added.
