MTV2 Looking for the Next Yellowcard

MTV2 will kick off its fall 2005 “Dew Circuit Breakout,” sponsored by PepsiCo Inc.’s “Mountain Dew,” Monday.

The Dew Circuit Breakout is a competition between up-and-coming musical artists. Pete Miser and Hidden in Plain View will battle in New York Monday; The Letters Organize and Tub Ring in Chicago Tuesday; and Over It and HelloGoodbye in Los Angeles Wednesday.

MTV2 will air each Dew Circuit Breakout Challenge special on-air, followed by additional profiles on each band, interviews and performances on broadband service MTV Overdrive (www.mtv.com/overdrive).

Then, the MTV2’s Dew Circuit Breakout Live Finale will air Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11 p.m. (EST). MTV2 VJ Jim Shearer will host live from MTV2’s studios in Times Square, where each of the three finalists will appear and perform a song from their current album for a live studio audience, as well as a cover song assigned to them.

Previous Dew Circuit alumni include Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights and The Starting Line.
