mun2 has named Margie Moreno to the newly created position of vice president, programming, for mun2. She reports to Diana Mogollon, the mun2 general manager, and will be based out of the cable network’s offices at Universal City in Los Angeles.

Moreno (pictured) will work with mun2’s West Coast productions, overseeing development and current programming for the network with her counterpart, Luisa Varona, also a programming VP, who is based in the East Coast.

"Margie brings with her over 15 years as both a producer and network executive, having amassed a wealth of expertise, knowledge and hands-on experience in producing network series in both Spanish and English," Mogollon said in a release. "Her production background gives mun2 an influential edge in identifying unique talent from across the globe, as well as connecting to creators of authentic, Hispanic content."

Prior to mun2, Moreno was head of development for Imagina US/Promofilm US, an international television production company, where she specialized in adapting international television formats (scripted and reality) for U.S. broadcast and cable markets. In that role she produced pilots and original series for such networks as NBC, Discovery, MTV, ABC, and Lifetime, among others.

Before working in the international marketplace, Moreno was the director of original programming at TBS Superstation where she was involved in the development and production of scripted and reality programs. Prior to that she worked at Mandalay Entertainment where she helped create Mandalay Television and worked on developing projects for television.

Moreno served on the board of the Television Academy Executive Peer Group and is a member of the Producers Guild of America. She is a member of Step Up Women’s Network where she was given a Volunteer of the Year Award in 2010.
