Latin Emmys Head to Big Apple

Six featured stars and broadcasters in Spanish-language television will be honored in New York in October as the recipient of Leaders of Spanish Language Television Awards, also known as the Latin Emmys.

The recipients, selected by a blue-ribbon panel, include Fernando Arau, morning-show host of Univision's Despierta America; Saul Lisazo, a novela veteran currently starring in Telemundo's Tierra de Pasiones; Telemundo sports anchor Jessi Losada; Lucero, star of telenovela Alboarada on Televisa; Maria Elena Salinas, co-anchor of highly rated newscast Noticiero Univision; and veteran talk-show host Christina Saralegui.

The awards were held in San Antonio last year. The move to New York marks a milestone in the development of recognition of Spanish-television stars by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, according to CEO Peter Price.
