Knievel Taking to the Air for TNT

"Kaptain" Robbie Knievel, son of legendary motorcyclist Evel Knievel, is jumping at the chance to promote Turner Network Television’s original movie about his father.

Robbie Knievel will perform a jump on the deck of the USS Intrepid, and the live one-hour special, Live from New York, Robbie Knievel Jumps the USS Intrepid, will air Saturday, July 31 at p.m. (EST/PST).

He will attempt to clear the array of military aircraft on the deck of the former aircraft carrier, which is now permanently docked in New York as the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

TNT's Emmy Award-winning Ernie Johnson Jr. will serve as master of ceremonies and call the aerial leap. Craig Sager and Dave Burns will provide live reports throughout the telecast, with TNT/NBC National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing analyst Wally Dallenbach adding his insights.

Sandy Grossman, an eight-time Emmy winner, will produce and direct the jump, marking his fifth production involving Robbie Knievel.

TNT Original Evel Knievel debuts on the network Friday, July 30, at 8 p.m., with repeats July 31, at 9 p.m., immediately following Robbie Knievel Jumps the USS Intrepid, and Sunday, Aug. 1, at 8 p.m.
