InterMedia Invests in Sportsman Channel

InterMedia Partners VII L.P. made an equity investment in The Sportsman Channel.

The full-time hunting-and-fishing network has distribution deals with 18 of the top 25 MSOs.

Sportsman added that C. Michael Cooley remains as CEO and Todd D. Hansen, one of the network’s original investors, is still senior vice president.

InterMedia is part of New York-based private-equity firm InterMedia Advisors, headed by longtime cable veteran Leo J. Hindery Jr.

Since forming InterMedia in 2005, Hindery has been active in cable and publishing -- InterMedia invested an undisclosed amount in Gospel Music Channel last year, and in February, it agreed to buy Christian publisher Thomas Nelson Inc. for $473 million.
