HBO Shopping Syndie Six

2/16/2006 4:00 PM Eastern

After much success syndicating The Sopranos and Sex and the City, Home Box Officeis now shopping Six Feet Under to prospective buyers, according to officials familiar with the situation.

Six ended its run on HBO last year, when it finished its fifth season.

It’s doubtful that the serieswill be able to command the eye-popping prices in the syndication market that Sopranos and Sex fetched.

One year ago, HBO sold The Sopranos to A&E Network for $190 million, or a record-shattering $2.5 million per episode. The reruns were set to start airing on A&E this fall.

Prior to that, HBO sold Sex to one of its sister services, TBS, as well as to the Tribune Broadcasting TV-station group. TBS shelled out an estimated $750,000 per episode for Sex.
