Fox News Ups Alshouse

Fox News has promoted Janet Alshouse to senior vice president of international distribution, handling Fox News Channel and Fox NewsEdge in the global market, chairman Roger Ailes announced Tuesday.

“Janet has pioneered the international distribution business, creating a worldwide effort to deliver fair and balanced news to all corners of the earth,” Ailes said in a prepared statement. “She has been with Fox News Channel since its launch, and she is dedicated to the success of the channel and all of the Fox News products.”

The demand for Fox News -- which is now available in 71 countries outside of the United States -- has grown internationally, according to the network.

Alshouse joined Fox News in 1996, serving as news director during the network’s planning stages and its first years. She was later promoted to director of affiliate relations, working with local Fox affiliates to develop NewsEdge. In 2002, she was promoted to the newly created post of VP of news distribution.
