Dodgers Network Sets Programming Roster

Supplementing its Dodgers telecasts, SportsNet LA has unveiled its programming roster for its rookie season.

Bowing Feb. 25, the regional sports network home to Major League Baseball’s Dodgers will air more than 160 regular-season and Cactus League contests, as well as original programming, classic contests and live studio fare around the club. SportsNet LA will also encore every Dodger game, both as a complete game, including full post-game analysis, and as a Dodgers Squeeze Play, a condensed one-hour game enhanced with the sights and sounds viewers didn’t catch while watching the live game.

SportsNet LA is owned by the Dodgers through American Media Productions, LLC SportsNet LA . Time Warner Cable is SportsNet LA’s charter distributor and will offer it to its customers throughout Southern California, Las Vegas and Hawaii. The MSO is responsible for securing affiliate pacts for the Dodgers service and will foot the monthly subscriber fee bill should it not be able to secure deals with other distributors in the team’s TV territory.  SportsNet LA is reportedy seeking a $5 monthly subscriber fee.

Backstage: Dodgers:  The weekly documentary series will give fans access to the club from the first day of spring training through the last pitch of the season. Debuting Feb. 25, the launch-night episode will take fans to Clayton Kershaw’s home in Texas the day he found out he won the 2013 National League Cy Young Award and inside the Dodger clubhouse and the first few weeks of spring training.

Access SportsNet: Dodgers: The live daily studio show will air nightly during spring training and then serve as the network’s pre- and post-game show during the regular season, featuring analysis, highlights, interviews and more. The show will be anchored by studio host John Hartung live from the SportsNet LA studio in Los Angeles and include commentary from analysts Orel Hershiser, Nomar Garciaparra and Jerry Hairston Jr. SportsNet LA in-game reporter Alanna Rizzo will provide live interviews and coverage from Dodger Stadium and on the road. During the regular season, Access SportsNet: Dodgers will air for 30 minutes before each live regular season game on SportsNet LA and also following the game.

Leadoff LA: Originating from the SportNet LA studios, the program will air a half-hour ahead of Access SportsNet: Dodgers on game days during the regular season. Hosted by Hartung and Rizzo, it will include commentary from SportsNet LA’s full analyst team and other Dodger experts, including live look-ins to Dodger batting practice. Leadoff LA will have interactive elements, integrating fans live via social media.

Dodgers Clubhouse: The weekly program will air all season long, covering all aspects of the club, both on and off the field. The half-hour show will include special Dodger features, interviews and a weekly one-on-one manager segment with Don Mattingly. It will be hosted by Rizzo and debut on Mondays.

Connected With…The conversation program will showcase sit-down interviews, profiling players, coaches, executives and Dodger legends throughout the season. Debut dates for episodes featuring Kershaw and Mattingly will be announced shortly.

Other original SportsNet LA programming will include Dodger legends and personalities engaged in roundtable conversations about their favorite Dodger memories on Talkin’ Blue; Dodger countdown shows listing the greatest moments, players and events in Dodger history; hour-long Dodgermentary biographies about past and present Dodger personalities and classic Timeless Dodgers games.
