CSN Bay Area, Yahoo! Partner on Weekday Talk Show

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and Yahoo! Sports are teaming on a new weekday talk show.

Yahoo! SportsTalk Live, a new Bay Area- focused, hour-long sports roundtable discussion show, featuring opinionated commentary, analysis and debate on the day’s trending sports and entertainment stories, is scheduled to debut on June 3 at 5 p.m. (PT) on the RSN.

Hosted by Jim Kozimor, Yahoo! SportsTalk Live, the topical program will feature San Francisco Chronicle writers, as well as an array of guests, including Yahoo! Sports’ reporters and fantasy experts, local and national media, athletes, coaches, front office executives and other notables from the sports and entertainment industries.

The program emanates from the content and promotional partnership between the NBC Sports Group and Yahoo! Sports that was announced last December.  As part of the joint venture, Comcast SportsNet features Yahoo’s national reporters and commentators, fantasy sports products and coverage of large-scale sporting events.

If successful in the Bay Area,Yahoo! SportsTalk Live could surface as a template for similar shows on other CSN regionals around the country.

The inaugural show will be held on the Yahoo! campus in Sunnyvale, Calif.  From there, Yahoo! Sports Talk Live will originate from the RSN’s state-of-the art studio, newsroom and HD production facilities in San Francisco.

“Teaming up with Comcast SportsNet is a great extension of our relationship with NBC Sports,”  said Kenneth Fuchs, vice president of Yahoo! global media and head of Yahoo! Sports and Games, in a statement. "The Bay Area has some of the most passionate and intelligent sports fans out there, and we want Yahoo! SportsTalk Live to provide them a smart, fun, and fast-paced hour of local trending sports news, analysis, fantasy information, score updates and more. We’re excited to invest in the fans located in our own backyard, and we’ll be providing them access to our award-winning writers and experts on the Bay Area’s top sports network."

Noted Ted Griggs, president of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area: "Yahoo! SportsTalk Live is the latest progression of Comcast SportsNet’s commitment to provide Northern California sports fans with the most comprehensive and entertaining sports news and analysis programming. We are thrilled to partner with Yahoo! Sports in presenting Yahoo! SportsTalk Live, an innovative and interactive show that will bring together talent and resources from the NBC Sports Group and Yahoo! Sports, two of the most trusted and established brands in sports media. Yahoo! SportsTalk Live will provide our local fans the very best in Bay Area sports news, analysis and lively debate.”
