Comcast Xfinity TV Player is On Fire HD

TV Everywhere App Also Runs on Other Android- and iOS-Powered Devices 6/18/2013 2:23 PM Eastern

The Xfinity TV Player has reached the Kindle Fire HD, marking the latest connected device to support Comcast’s authenticated video app.

“We continue to work with our partners to launch more content on more devices than ever before. Tablet devices in particular have become a popular platform to watch TV shows and movies while on-the-go,” Comcast VP of product development and planning wrote on the MSO’s corporate blog.

The free app for the Kindle Fire HD follows earlier launches on other Android-powered tablets and smartphones and Apple iPads, iPhones and iPod Touch devices.

Comcast said the latest version of Xfinity TV Player provides access to 20,000 on-demand “choices” that can be streamed, as well as a library of titles from Showtime, Starz, Encore, and Movieplex that can be downloaded to supported devices when they aren’t connected to broadband.

Comcast’s family of Xfinity TV apps have been downloaded more than 12 million times to date, Lingle wrote.
