Cable Show 2013: One World Sports to Deliver HD Signal on Aug. 1

New Graphics Package, Web Redesign, New Streaming App Also on Tap 6/09/2013 1:30 PM Eastern

One World Sports will soon sport a new on-air look, replete with a fresh graphics package presented to viewers in the high-definition format.

The global sports proponent, which has linear carriage on Dish Network, Cablevision and Mediacom Communications, on August 1 will convert its signal to HD and reveal a new on-air look, accompanied by a fresh branding, graphics package and what it says will be a first-of-its kind global sports kicker.

One World Sports’ new graphics and network logo were produced by the Eyeball design agency. An accompanying tagline of “Beyond Boundaries” speaks to the promise of the network’s global sports programming, which includes Asian soccer, highlighted by World Cup qualifiers, and Japanese baseball, featuring all home games of the Yomuri Giants. A set of interstitials featuring former MLB and Chiba Lotte Marines Bobby Valentine discussing the league’s traditions will bow on June 10. Bobby V will be at the network’s booth No. 1742 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. that day at Cable Show 2013 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The network also will kick off its initial domestic programming initiative: One World is slated to televise seven New York Cosmos home soccer matches, and an original series commemorating the legendary club’s early history.

One World Sports, which targets adults 18 to 34, will also relaunch its website and introduce a new app for mobile streaming of its content. The completely redesigned website, developed by 2Advanced Studios, will serve up a much richer offering of video and original content.

“We are executing on our longstanding vision of providing leadership and innovation in global sports programming,” said Alexander “Sandy” Brown, president and CEO of One World Sports, in announcing the changes. “We also plan to continue to add compelling new programming to our offerings at One World Sports. The move to HD and our highly differentiated, bold new graphics tee us up to drive our network to its next level of industry and consumer success.”
