BeIN Sport Nets AT&T U-verse Carriage Pact

Ahead of its telecasts of today’s series of World Cup qualifiers, BeIN Sport has added AT&T U-verse to its affiliate roster.

The teleco has launched BeIN Sport and BeIN Sport en Español in both the standard- and high-definition formats. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The international sports networks, now in their sophomore season, are available on the telco’s U450, Sports and Paquete Español packages, as well as its U200 Latino and U300 Latino offerings. AT&T U-verse will position BeIN Sport on channel 662 in SD and 1662 in HD, plus 3120 in SD and 3320 in HD. Spanish-language channel, BeIN Sport en Español, will be available on channel 663 in SD and 1663 in HD, as well as  3119 in SD and 3319 in HD.

The rollouts come as BeIN Sport today will present live coverage of trio of World Cup qualifiers, including the CONCACAF match between the U.S. and Costa Rica at 9:30 p.m. (ET), while and BeIN Sport en Español serves up a CONMEBOL quadrupleheader, capped by Peru-Uruguay at 10:30 p.m. (see schedule below).

AT&T U-verse joins the distribution roster of the U.S. arm of Al Jazeera Sports that includes DirecTV, Dish Network, Verizon FiOS, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Atlantic Broadband, Advanced Cable Communications, Liberty Cablevision in Puerto Rico and Sirius XM.

They will now have the opportunity to see this exclusive coverage coming to them from some of the most exciting international stadiums and venues in the world.”

AT&T U-verse TV customers are passionate. And our two networks will offer them more soccer and top flight international competition than any other channel.”

The programmer, which also holds Stateside rights to such top-flight soccer circuits as Spain’s La Liga, Italy’s Serie A, and France’s Ligue 1, among other competitions, also features a streaming service, dubbed BeIN Sport Play, for authenticated subscribers. It is currently available to Time Warner Cable, Bright House and FiOS customers.
