4/10/2006 12:45 PM Eastern

BBC America acquired six two-part dramas for a new season of crime thrillers with a seductive twist.

The block of thrillers will run every Monday and Tuesday night from Memorial Day weekend through July 4th weekend, starting with Secret Smile, starring David Tennant (Viva Blackpool) as an aggressive and manipulative lover who cons his way into the life of a woman he met on a one-night stand.

The others, in sequence, are: Lie with Me, about a deception with dangerous repercussions; Frances Tuesday, in which an accountant gets tangled with gangland toughs (Tamzin Outhwaite of Red Cap); Marian Again, starring Stephen Tompkinson (Brassed Off) as a man whose contented family life is torn apart when his former girlfriend, presumed dead, reappears; The Best Man, about best friends who share a dark secret, with MI-5’s Keeley Hawes; and The Innocent, with Caroline Quentin of Men Behaving Badly, about a happily married housewife whose husband is accused of rape by her best friend.
