Altitude Joins Bands On Stage

Altitude Sports & Entertainment is feeling musical.

The regional sports network said Monday that it will debut new, originally produced monthly music series On Stage Thursday at 8:30 p.m. (MST).

Altitude said On Stage will showcase performances from the featured artists, as well as behind-the-scenes footage and in-depth interviews with the individual musicians and band members.

The initial episode will feature Colorado band DOTSERO from Jazz@Jack’s on Platte Street in Denver, and it will be hosted by Will Jones.

Altitude airs Denver Nuggets National Basketball Association games, and it has the rights to the currently locked-out National Hockey League’s Colorado Avalanche.

“When we created Altitude, we said we wanted the network to be more than a regional sports network for our region -- we wanted community and entertainment programming, too,” senior vice president of programming Shelly Harper said in a prepared statement.

“We wanted the ‘Entertainment’ in Altitude Sports & Entertainment to mean something, and we think we have the potential for a great series with On Stage,” she added. “We’ll be showcasing area groups from those who are already well known to those lesser-known artists that the network will expose to a greater audience.”
