A&E Is Playing Vegas

9/14/2004 3:43 AM Eastern

A&E Network’s signature show, Biography, is heading to the strip.

Wednesday at 8 p.m. (EST), the network will air Biography: Playing Vegas, which looks at the current crop of entertainers headlining there.

The special, produced by Clear Channel Entertainment TV, will mix interviews with superstars such as James Caan, Rita Rudner, Penn and Teller and Rich Little with performance footage of Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil, Rudner and others.

Playing Vegas will also pay homage to those who helped to lay the groundwork for the large variety of entertainment that currently defines the strip -- the “Rat Pack,” Elvis Presley, Liberace and Wayne Newton, among others.

Las Vegas will hold its 100th-anniversary celebration in 2005.
