Shaw Taps BSI for Set-Top Management3/16/2004 2:55 AM Eastern
Broadband Services Inc. said Shaw Communications Inc. is buying its "CPEase" digital-set-top-box lifecycle-management system.
The CPEase system provides greater clarity into stocking new inventory, equipment recovery, cleaning and screening, redistribution and warranty tracking. The net result, BSI said, is an increased recovery percentage, reductions in cycle time and costs for recovery, reduced obsolescence and inventory shrinkage.
Shaw president Peter Bissonette said CPEase "will help us to increase the efficiency with which we track, recover and redeploy set-top boxes." The Canadian MSO counts 480,000 digital subscribers.
