MSO, Tech Execs Join Board Of Adaptive Spirit

Bergman, Hayashi Among New Directors At SkiTAM Parent Organization 10/23/2012 12:22 PM Eastern

Adaptive Spirit, the not-for-profit trade association that organizes the annual SkiTAM event benefiting the U.S. National Paralympic Ski Team, has added five prominent executives in the cable operations and technology fields to its board of directors.

 

Joining the board as new directors are Nomi Bergman, president, Bright House Networks; Mike Hayashi, EVP Advanced Engineering and Tech, Time Warner Cable; Ron Pitcock, VP/GM MSO Group, Huawei Technologies USA; and Jay Rolls, SVP/CTO, Charter Communications. Also joining the board as a legal liaison is Ken Tolle, president, Launch Pad Media Advisors.

 

“The addition of these dynamic leaders will help bring new insights to the Adaptive Spirit vision,” Steve Raymond, chairman of the board of Adaptive Spirit, said in a release. “We’re excited to move forward with this new group of individuals, united in the purpose developing business relationships that provide our members with better results than they would have without Adaptive Spirit.”

 

The new members join the existing Adaptive Spirit board consisting of Raymond, who is SVP, National Accounts and Affiliate Sales, ESPN; board director Joe Rooney, SVP Branding and Media, Cox Communications; board treasurer Amos Smith, CFO, Time Warner Cable West Division; and board secretary Deborah Flippo, Sr. Director of Affiliate Sales, Avail-TVN.

 

The organization's largest annual event, Adaptive Spirit's SkiTAM, will mark its 18th year on April 4–7, 2013, in Vail, Colo.

 

Created in 2011, Adaptive Spirit is a not-for-profit trade association focusing on building business relationships and networking in the cable television industry. Through initiatives that focus on education and networking, Adaptive Spirit champions the strength of business relationships and the end result of creating a more profitable industry. To that end, Adaptive Spirit provides education, recognition, information and networking opportunities for cable companies, content providers and others who supply products and services to the cable industry. It was created after the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) eliminated local chapters. SkiTAM had been affiliated with the CTAM chapter in Colorado.
