Mag Rack Goes on Low-Carb Diet

Rainbow Media Holdings LLC’s niche video-on-demand service, Mag Rack, is getting healthy in the kitchen.

Beginning March 10, the VOD service will offer Smart Carb Gourmet, which will feature nine of Manhattan’s top restaurant chefs delivering step-by-step instructions to their signature, low-carb meals that are quick and easy to prepare.

Smart Carb Gourmet will be produced at the New York Institute of Culinary Education, and it will include a special “Smart Carb 101” introduction hosted byToni Senecal, entertainment reporter for New York’s WB-11 news.

“Cooking shows are extremely popular, but never before has television offered New York’s top chefs cooking up healthy cuisine at the touch of a button,” Mag Rack vice president of programming Cyndy Cecil said in a prepared statement.

“We plan to support our on-air launch with promotions that tickle the taste buds of people in New York and beyond to help bring these pros right into our viewer’s kitchens,” she added.
